Free Video Downloader is a download manager for videos that handles concurrent downloads and works well with YouTube, Facebook and other major websites.
If you need a program that can download videos from YouTube, other video-sharing sites and just about any website that hosts videos, then Free Video Downloader is a fine option. As the name suggests, this application is freeware, and it’s configured out of the box to work with Facebook, Google, YouTube, Yahoo and more. A site doesn’t have to be preconfigured to be compatible, however. As long as it provides access to a video URL, Free Video Downloader will work.
Free Video Downloader can even search sites for you and discover video URLs, or you can enter or paste URLs manually. Then, click the Download button, and the program will add the video to the queue. The program can even handle concurrent downloads for multiple video files. It would be nice if the app provided the user a bit more control over the queue, but it does have pause and resume features, so you can give files priority by pausing any less-urgent videos.
By default, Free Video Downloader will download videos in their native resolution, including 4K, 1080p and 720p. You also have the option of reducing quality on any particular video in order to reduce the file size. The program also provides the option to convert these download files into other formats. This feature is fairly rudimentary and relies on the codecs you already have installed. Fine control over conversions is possible but not offered in a simple way through the program interface, which probably makes it impractical for the average user.
